The process
Overview of the Cyber Essentials Plus process

Documentation
- Complete the asset declaration form (sent to you before the assessment; this is crucial).
- Return it at least two weeks before the assessment.
- Submit your Cyber Essentials basic assessment in the portal at least one week before the assessment.

Preparation
- Download and install the scanning software (for remote assessments).
- Give us contact details for your technical lead on the day.
- Grant permission for external scans.
- Make sure the agreed sample of computers is available.

Preparation call
- A call with your assessor to confirm all arrangements. Please read the preparation document beforehand.
- 4
Assessment
- Assessment day procedures are carried out.
- If anything fails, provide evidence of remediation and arrange a retest within 30 days. Remote retests up to one hour are free; otherwise from £400 + VAT.
- If the retest is not completed within 30 days, a full repeat assessment and new quote are needed.

Remote retests of up to one hour are free; other retests start at £400 + VAT. Anything that fails must be fixed and retested within 30 days, or a new assessment and a new quote are needed.
